Since 1300’s, Masu has played an important role in Japanese tradition. From measuring rice, serving sake and a symbol of good luck. Masu has become world renowned for serving sake. 

Hinoki Lumber (Japanese Cypress) is used to make the Masu. Entirely handmade using precisely cut pieces of wood and applying a small amount og glue, Masu is truly an artisanal product to sip and savour sake.

Ohashi Ryoki from Osaka City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan has been hand crafting masu boxes since 1950. With nearly 70 years of expertise, Ohashi combines meticulous craftsmanship with centuries old Japanese tradition that are environment friendly, artistic and memorable.
